The church is buzzing this morning! And it's all about removing barriers! One of the overriding principles that I'm learning from growing churches is to "Remove the barriers that cause non-growth!" And that's all kinds of barrier...
- Facility barriers
- Parking lot barriers
- Seating barriers
- Communication barriers
- Atmosphere barriers
- Guest barriers, etc.
So, NMCC is removing some barriers this week. One of those is our parking lot. Since we've moved into our new facility our attendance has jumped over 200! God is so amazing! And we built the parking lot too small. We're pushing dirt this week to add over 50 more spots.
Also, since we moved, our children's ministry has doubled! But our atmosphere for our children isn't very inviting. So, this morning a crew of painters is "painting-by-number" a scene drawn by our local Drama teacher and it is so cool. I'll post a picture when they're done.
And, beginning August 26th, we move to 3 services to make more seating available!
This "Removing Barriers" thing is fun, exciting, but also, a little scary. And it also asks the question on a personal level: "What barriers do I need to remove so my friends, 1st time guests, anyone, can experience a life change at NMCC?" What would be your barriers?
We are so excited to be getting back involved with NMCC. God is truly doing some amazing things in Madison. It is so amazing how little things, like difficulty finding a parking spot, can have such a negative impact on growth, but it is so true.
